Happy New Year! 2013 was another busy but rewarding year for Audi Club. Our passion for the Audi brand is celebrated in many different ways—whether driving on a track, winding roads, cross- country journeys, autocrosses—it’s all part of the Audi experience. Members also enjoy social events, auto shows, fun rallies, picnics and more. I am proud to say that in the last year we have made great progress in developing and hosting events that cover so many different interests.
Because of more variety of events, we have successfully pivoted our beloved Audi Club into growth mode once again. Last time I reported overall 6% growth over 12 months, and some chapters had double digit growth monthly! New Audi owners join the club because we offer them events that fit their varying interests and schedules. Chapter leaders share our best practices in hosting various events. Inspired by success stories in other Chapters, more volunteers step up to replicate the popular events in their own region. Currently, we have close to 300 events across 30 states annually. And this number will grow too, just like our membership number.
This is a very exciting time to be an Audi Club member. The brand is continually capturing mind share not only in the States but also globally. And our community has never been this active. Just have a look at our social networking sites and our National and Chapter websites. They are filled with fun and exciting stories from our events. And our readers engage each other on Facebook! In 2014, we will increase our presence in social media so more people will get to know us and join our club.
Additionally, Audi of America and Audi Club have partnered in Kundenbegeisterung (KB). In English, it means “Customer Delight.” In Q4 2013, we kicked off our joint initiative to bring Audi dealers closer to Audi Club. Together, as part of KB program, Chapters and Audi dealers will create Audi owner communities around Audi dealers across the country. These communities will accelerate Audi Club membership growth, and increase Audi sales and brand loyalty.
In 2014, National Board and Chapter leaders will focus on developing marquee regional events. So, members in adjacent states can get together and celebrate our love for the four rings. Regional events present venues for members and their families who do not have time to travel long distance to attend our National event. Another new initiative this year is European driving vacation program. There is no better way to enjoy Audi in its birth place. Mountainous Bavarian region is filled with exhilarating twisty roads with mesmerizing scenery. So, this year for the very first time, Audi Club organized an R8 Spyder driving vacation. This event was sold out the first day the program was announced! We are in the planning stages with Audi AG and Elite-Rent, our Audi rental partner in Europe to add more European driving events.
