Exciting National Event for Members

This past Summer, I participated in two unique events: 28th Frank Beddor Audi Club National Event in Colorado Springs, CO and Legends of the Autobahn in Carmel Valley, CA.

Audi Club National Event was unique because it coincided with 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Race, and our Club program was coupled to this world famous race. Audi Club member presence at the race could easily be noticed. Hundred of spectators wearing Audi Club lanyards walked around the paddock and enjoyed the Ducati VIP hospitality tent. Members engaged in conversations with international racing teams and race drivers. Additionally, our new Audi Club North America logo was noticeable everywhere around the paddock—at the starting gate and hairpins that dotted the 14k foot mountain.

For the first time, Audi Club joined the 2012 Legends of the Autobahn. This event coincided with the annual Monterey Motorsports Reunion Weekend. Thousands of International car enthusiasts descended to this usually quiet and quaint city by the sea to take part in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Legends of the Autobahn is a relatively young event. It began back in 2009 as a BMW only event; today with our presence, the event covered four German brands: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche.

Legends Event attracts new Audi enthusiasts

Although it was a first time event, we made a great impression. Audi Club members showed our beloved cars, and we made a splash by having Audi quattro S1, new RS5, TT RS, and S6 in prominent locations at the entrance of the corral and next to the main stage. This was the perfect opportunity to showcase beautiful Audis, not only to members, but other German marque owners. Our Audi Club new tent and flags were displayed proudly which attracted many people who wanted to know more about our club.

Many of you have seen the movie Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts. This movie demonstrates that with strong TEAMWORK, any what-seem-to-be-impossible-to-overcome challenges and when-all-odds-are against-us, we overcome those challenges and also will succeed in the most inspiring way. Enthusiasts will continue talking about what Audi Sport Team did in 2011 24 Le Mans for many years.

Successful events require teamwork

The two above Audi Club successful inspiring events would not be possible without very strong teamwork among the volunteers from Audi Club National, Audi Club Rocky Mountain, Audi Club Golden Gate, Audi AG, Audi of America, and Phil Long Audi Dealer in Colorado Springs, CO. So, if you happen to cross paths with them, please thank and congratulate them for their grandeur accomplishments.

While attending these two events, I met many of you who traveled far distances driving your own cars. A few of you travelled half way cross country to be with us; this showed your passion for the Audi brand, cars, and club. Through our conversations and emails, many wished that there would be not only more events but also more variety of events to attend in your neck of the woods. New Audi owners expressed that track events may not be for you, at least not yet. You would like to get to know us better through more social events.

Unified Audi Club Experience

Audi Club and Audi of America are fully aware that our Club Experience is inconsistent across the nation. Our goal is to establish a Unified Audi Club Experience such that every time one sees that familiar Audi Club logo, tents, and flags, they know exactly what to expect and how much fun they will have participating in a different variety of events that fit their lifestyle and interests. To accomplish this, with the support of Audi of America, our national and regional leaders are collaborating in establishing the proper leadership and management model and best practices to help each other improve.

Regional leaders who are experts in running social events are stepping up and collaborating as coaches to help regions that do not have (enough) social events. Similarly, regional leaders who are experts in hosting track events are coaching regions that do not have track events. We are increasing our TEAMWORK! Because as we all know, by strong Teamwork, we will succeed and inspire people around us to join our beloved club.

Call for volunteers

Lastly in order for us to host such great events, we need more volunteers across the nation. Volunteers will testify that the efforts we put in energize us because we are having fun working together and sharing our mutual passion for Audi. So, if you are interested in helping us hosting events, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

I am looking forward to meeting you at one of our next events!
