Working together with APR and Dion Von Moltke, Audi Club Golden Gate will be hosting Dion and his co-driver, Dr. Jim Norman at our hospitality tent during the upcoming Grand-AM race at Laguna Seca. There will be an informal question and answer period with the drivers followed by an autograph session.
Watch for more details of the exact schedule as the race gets closer. In addition to the Q&A session, we also have a Tech Talk scheduled with the APR Engineering team. During the talk, a representative from the APR pit crew will provide the details and challenges of building a team around a car which has been introduced to Grand-AM in January of this year. This tech talk is scheduled to take place in the APR paddock, while the driver discussions are scheduled to take place at our hospitality tent.
To make sure we can "Properly root for the R8", all of our registrants will recieve an Audi Flag to help cheer on Dion and Jim as they look for their first podium finish of the year.

While we can't divulge the details yet, we hope to be able to give "special access" passes to two lucky Audi Club members whose names will be chosen in a raffle on Saturday. More to come as we confirm this intimate and exclusive prize.
Also expected in our tent are Ian Baas and other APR drivers to say hello, sign autographs, and talk about the other classes the VW and Audi S4s are running in. With all of these special events, be sure to get to the track early so you don't miss a minute of the excitement.
This event is called "Turn 5" because of the location of the hospitality tent. For those of you who have been with us before, turn 5 is renowned for being the best viewing area at the track. Join us at the edge of the track for a great view of the cars as they outbrake each other entering turn 5.
Dion is excited to have ACNA Golden Gate Chapter support him at the event and wanted to personally welcome our members to the race and hospitality tent from Sept.7-9. (view video)
Register for the early-bird discount which has been extended until noon on Tuesday, August 14th.
While Dion and Jim are now driving an Audi R8 in the Grand-AM Rolex series, the Audi R8 is enjoying a good strong introduction to GT racing in the US. Recently, Global Motorsports Group, of Santa Ana, CA purchased three LMS R8 GT3 spec cars, which have gone through a series of modifications, and are racing in the Pirelli World Challenge. For those of you planning on attending, or thinking about attending the Indy Car race at Sears Point during the weekend of August 24-26, be sure to say hello to Fabryce Kutyba and James Sofronas of GMG. These two, and the rest of the GMG team, will be in the World Challenge pit area during the entire weekend. Stop by and tell them Cliff sent you.
