The Greater Kansas City Auto Show was held March 2 through 6 at Bartle Hall this year. On Saturday March 6 Bill Blumhardt, Kansas City Audi Car Club Treasurer, Terry Doolittle, Director at large, and I attended to help man the Molle Audi display and represent ACNA. Armed with extra copies of Quattro Quarterly and membership applications we helped greet visitors checking out the display.
Many seemed to enjoy the examples of Audi craftsmanship. The A8L drew many to savor the comfort and opulence of a fine example of German engineering and astounding comfort. The Q7 diesel and Q5 both drew admiring looks from the SUV fans. Another crowd favorite was the bright red A6 with supercharged 3.0 V6. The performance minded were shocked to find out that such a luxurious car would be equipped with a supercharged engine. Rounding out the display was a pair of A4 2.0s and a TT Coupe.
Think of what a crowd an S5 or R8 would have drawn. Helping explain the benefits and enjoyment of Audi ownership was a highly rewarding experience. Much time was also spent talking about the benefits and pleasure we derive from belonging to ACNA. We passed out all of our supply of Quarterlies and membership applications to interested Auto Show guests. This was the third time that I have helped man the Audi Stand at the Auto Show-I still get as much enjoyment from it as my first time and look forward to making it a yearly event.
After our time manning the stand was over, we enjoyed a late lunch at Grunauers Austrian restaurant to round out the experience. Maybe next year other members can join us in representing our local dealership as well as ACNA.
