Audi Club Auction Watch: 04.18.2024

Words: Steve Johnson

Greetings Audi enthusiasts!  Thank you for clicking on another edition of Auction Watch where we’ve done the internet searching for you.  We’ve checked multiple car auction sites looking for Audi models worthy of your bids.  Each Thursday we post those listings calling out a car’s highlights, and include a few pictures and a link to the listing.  Our goal is to help you find the Audi that you’re looking for in time for you to bid on it.

Just a heads-up for you loyal readers, Auction Watch will be taking a spring break of sorts.  First, my Porsche Club of America region is having its big spring event and I’ll be working in it.  Then my wife and I are going to the IndyCar race at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, AL.  Finally, on the way back north we’ll be participating in the ACNA Georgia Chapter’s Quattro de Mayo.  So Auction Watch will return on or about May 9th.  And now, without further ado, here is this week’s listing overview.

If you’re looking for something special, scroll down right now to the first car whose auction ends early this afternoon.  I’ll wait…pretty cool, eh?  (A friend of mine once saw a similarly scratched gear shift knob and wondered if Wolverine had owned the car.)  As I worked on this blog post, bidding is up to $10,250.  It’s worth more than that so if you like it you’d better get bidding.

Now on to the rest of this week’s listing.  After no 7-series last week there is a late-model Q7 this week to consider.  If that’s not sporty enough for you, there are three R8s and three RS models to choose from.  The old-timer this week is a 1996 Cabriolet.  Please check them out and the rest of this week’s listings below.  As always, thanks for reading!

2006 Audi S4 25quattro Edition (51,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.18.2024 1:20 PM EDT

Bid quickly, auction ends early this PM!  This is one of 250 cars made to commemorate quattro all-wheel drive’s 25th anniversary.  It’s powered by a 4.2L V8 fitted now with a PES supercharger and linked to a Getrag 6-speed manual.  Other mods include a Milltek Sport exhaust, StopTech front brakes, and H&R shocks and springs.  All 25quattro editions were painted Avus Silver and equipped with a DTM-style bumper cover and carbon fiber front splitter and rear spoiler.  Inside you’ll find two-tone black/Jet Gray Silk Nappa leather seats, door panels and steering wheel; carbon fiber trim, Bose sound, Audi Navigation Plus, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a K40 radar detector.  Carfax reports damage to the left rear in June 2007, the selling dealer reports the left rear quarter panel was refinished as a result.

2017 Audi R8 V10 Spyder (21,000 Miles)

cars & bids – 04.19.2024 1:42 PM EDT

The Tango Red metallic paint job is fully protected by 3M ppf on this drop top.  That top is black as is the interior.  Options include Carbon Exterior and Diamond Stitch Leather (with red stitching) packages and the only mod is a wired-in Radenso radar detector with front and rear detection.  The 5.2L V10 is factory rated at 540HP/398 lb-ft and connects to a 7-speed S tronic.  Sale includes a tire, wheel, and windshield protection plan until March 26, 2025.  Carfax reports no accidents or damage.

2021 Audi Q7 (18,000 Miles)

cars & bids – 04.19.2024 2:36 PM EDT

The Prestige trim-level full-size SUV is very well equipped with Convenience and Executive packages, all-wheel steering, and HD Matrix-design LED headlights.  That Navarra Blue metallic finish is paired with a Black Optic package and black rings/badges.  It also wears XPEL paint protection film on the front and rear bumpers, fenders, and hood; and LLumar ceramic window tint on all windows.  The drivetrain is a 3.0L turbocharged V6 combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system (335HP/369 lb-ft) and an 8-speed Tiptronic.  The Carfax report is clean and a Lemon Squad inspection report is included in the listing.

2007 Audi RS 4 (138,000 Miles)

cars & bids – 04.19.2024 3:18 PM EDT

This Daytona Gray pearl fast sedan has daily driver miles on the clock and a few flaws too.  It also has a few mods highlighted by a GruppeM carbon fiber intake and Milltek exhaust for its 4.2L V8, 20” Rohana RF wheels, and KW coilovers; please see the listing for more.  The silver/black interior has black-piped silver Silk Nappa leather seats, a Premium package, and aluminum trim.  The flaws include a small dent on the trunk (see listing’s pictures), a misaligned and protruding right-side exhaust muffler, illuminated airbag and auto headlight malfunction warning lights, and a service reminder light.  The Carfax report is clean though.

2013 Audi RS 5 Coupe (40,000 Miles)

cars & bids – 04.19.2024 3:54 PM EDT

This first gen RS 5 is painted Panther Black Crystal Effect and optioned with a Titanium package to complete the look.  The black interior has leather/Alcantara seats, carbon fiber trim, Audi MMI Navigation Plus and Driver Assistance packages, and B&O sound.  The sound out of the 4.2L V8, Audi rated at 450HP/317 lb-ft, is thanks to a Sport exhaust.  Mods are limited to the black plastic front badge, carbon fiber style rear badge, ppf on the front quarter of the hood, and window tint.  The dirty Carfax report lists damage to the front and left front in February 2014, minor damage to the rear and right side in January 2015, and damage in August 2022 which the seller reports the driver’s side rear quarter panel was repainted as a result.

2001 Audi S4 Avant (121,000 Miles)

cars & bids – 04.19.2024 4:12 PM EDT

No Reserve.  This long roof is listed as Silver Metallic over Onyx and is also listed on Blackdog Speed Shop’s website with a cars & bids note where the asking price would normally go.  It needs a trip to the parts store for a handful of items inside and out, like the rear hatch window surround inside trim piece (see picture above).  Please watch the walk-around video and read the Known Flaws for details.  Carfax reports no accidents or damage.

2021 Audi RS 6 Avant (28,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.21.2024 2:39 PM EDT

Two popular colors here: the Daytona Gray pearl outside and the Cognac Valcona leather seats and trim inside.  The exterior has a Carbon Optics package and Modesta ceramic coating and SunTek paint protection film.  The interior has an Executive package, carbon twill inlays, and B&O 3D sound.  The drivetrain is a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system (591HP/590 lb-ft) and an 8-speed Tiptronic.  It had its starter-alternator failure and replacement in October 2022.  The Carfax report is clean.

2008 Audi A6 Avant (92,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.22.2024 1:35 PM EDT

No Reserve.  This long roof is powered by a 3.2L V6 factory rated at 255HP/243 lb-ft and mated to a 6-speed Tiptronic.  The exterior is Night Blue pearl, the dark interior has gray leather seats, wood trim, a Bluetooth hands-free system, an Audi MMI infotainment, and a Bose surround sound with a CD changer in the glovebox.  The Carfax report is clean but the driver’s seat left thigh bolster looks to have a tear in the leather (see picture 62).

2014 Audi R8 V8 Coupe (31,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.23.2024 4:33 PM EDT

I think Solar Orange should always be pictured in sunlight where it really pops.  That pop would be offset by the carbon fiber side blades and black 20” Ferrada wheels which appear to be the only mod.  The black cabin has leather/Alcantara seats and Audi Navigation Plus.  The 4.2L V8 is factory rated at 430HP/317 lb-ft and spins a 7-speed S tronic.  Carfax reports no accidents or damage and that this coupe has been looking for a new home since October 2023.

2009 Audi R8 V8 Coupe (15,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.24.2024 1:10 PM EDT

This coupe barely turned a wheel for its first six years of ownership (check out the Carfax).  It’s finished in Phantom Black pearl with Carbon Sigma side blades over a black interior with Tuscan Brown leather seats and an Audi Concert stereo with B&O sound.  Unlike the coupe above, this 4.2L V8 (420HP/317 lb-ft) spins a 6-speed gated manual.  Carfax reports no accidents or damage.

1996 Audi Cabriolet (65,000 Miles)

Bring a Trailer – 04.24.2024 3:31 PM EDT

No Reserve.  This Brilliant Black 2-door with a black soft top is not a quattro.  The 2.8L V6 sends a factory rated 174HP/184 lb-ft of power to the front wheels-only through a 4-speed automatic transaxle.  Under that top are seats and door panels covered in Ecru Kodiak leather, burled walnut wood trim, a Bluetooth-capable Dual CD stereo with a USB port, and removable rear wind deflector.  Interestingly, the Carfax doesn’t report any mileage until 2003 and also no accidents or damage.
