AS THE EVENT MASTER for the North Bay Teen Driving Clinic in Fairfield, CA, I had been following the weather reports almost hourly over the last couple days not believing that it was in fact actually going to rain. Well I was wrong. Upon arriving at the college, I saw instructors huddled under the large entrance overhang of the Student Services building trying to stay dry. While I had concerns about conducting the clinic in the rain, I had confidence our team would pull it off. As the trailer was unloaded, volunteers set out pastries and coffee provided by Niello Audi just as parents and teens arrived. Paul Jorgensen, Chief Instructor assembled the instructor crew to complete the setup of four exercises which would challenge the teen drivers at the clinic.
On Friday night, July 25, all the German car clubs are meeting for a fun GTG; this is the first "Autobahn Night" at the Concours of America, sponsored by Kip Sheward Motorsports. Held in front of St. John's (Five Mile Road in Plymouth, Michigan) there will be a band and food.
It's that time of year again, The Annual Blackhawk Farms ACCCC Driver's School and Safety Seminar is right around the corner. The event will be held at the beautiful Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Illinois on June 21st & 22nd.
Audi Club Wisconsin has a tradition of conducting annual driving clinics for teens to improve their driving skills. The goal is to teach many of the driving dynamics and skills that are often omitted in today’s world of basic driver education. The club conducts the clinics as a community service event and all teens are welcome. You do not need to be related to an Audi Club member to participate in the clinic.
The Teen Safe Driver Clinic presented by the Audi Club Chicagoland Chapter, is a great opportunity for a teen driver to work on improving their driving skills in a safe, controlled environment. The driving clinic, held at NIPSTA, is designed to improve your ability to control a vehicle in both normal and emergency situations.
This event is for teens who want to sharpen their skills and learn handling techniques that will make them better drivers. Our veteran instructors will describe the concepts of total vision and proactive vs. reactive thinking as well as demonstrate the mechanics of effective braking, oversteer/understeer and the effects of weight transfer. Throughout the day, you’ll get to hit the course and practice in a controlled environment with instructor feedback as you progress.
SUNDAY, SITA DANDIKER WAS DRIVING quite fast when, in an instant, she went off the road and onto the gravel shoulder. Seconds later, back on the road, the teenager’s vehicle hydroplaned and spun on a water-slickened road, then screeched to a halt after dodging obstacles and skidding across dry pavement.
